Joanie used to be so small!
The return of fall brings a relief from the sweltering Virginia summertime and provides for a short period of pristine weather. The cooler nights and mid-day temperatures capped in the low-eighties means it's time to mobilize the brassica brigade! Broccoli, collards, cabbage, and kale are all planted and thriving right now in prime fall growing conditions.

The key to any successful garden: compost! While this photo is a look back at the composting golden age of Garden Pat, the effort does not end with the move! Not many updates to give at this point, but I'm working on a solution to provide Garden Pat 2.0 with some good compost for the spring.
